Common Names: African Milk Tree cactus, candelabra cactus, Abyssinian Euphorbia, cathedral cactus, friendship cactus

Native to West Africa, not a cactus, but has similar habit, a good example of convergent evolution.

This one is pretty easy and can be ignored for several weeks at a time and be fine.

Light:

Prefers bright light or direct sun. Introduce to direct sun gradually to avoid burning.

Temperature:

35°-90° degrees Fahrenheit

Humidity:

Low humidity preferred, but tolerates most conditions.

Substrate, growing media and repotting:

Prefers fast draining mix, with perlite and maybe coarse sand added. Does not need to be repotted often, once every 1-3 years.

Watering:

Water when very dry. In winter, once every four to six weeks. More frequently in summer.

Fertilizer:

Feed monthly a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer spring and summer.

Toxicity:

White milky sap is a skin irritant and poisonous. Protect eyes and mouth when handling. Wash immediately if in contact with skin. Keep pets or children away.
